Apply on employer's website This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to be accountable for the safe, efficient and accurate operation of the onsite physical logistics and activity, leading the warehouse team with a focus on continuous improvement and service levels to Cargill's customers. The position includes supervisory responsibility for two onsite warehouses, including but not limited to, all inbound materials unloading, all on site warehouse activity and outbound dispatch processes. There is regular exposure to plant manufacturing, shop floor environments. Main Tasks: Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and accurately by the warehouse team (10 warehouse and administrative staff)Act as the sponsor for safe operations in the on-site logistics function, requiring close cooperation with the EHS coordinator and site management teamComplete and assist in any safety audits and take ownership of any issuesEnsure the safe working of Cargill employees, contractors and visitors by direct supervision, observations, risk assessments, safety conversations and permits to workMaintain the timely and accurate use of the stock control system to optimise production efficiency and customer serviceLead continuous improvement of the onsite logistics activity, identify and adopt best practicesDelivers warehouse activities within agreed budgetLiaise with third party external storage providers as requiredWork collaboratively across all internal stakeholders, including but not limited to; EHS, Planning, Customer Services, Production, FSQR and TechnicalEnsure all initiatives on site are clearly communicatedCoordinate stock countsTracks output and monitors key performance indicators ( Safety, customer service, logistics and manufacturing cost) to ensure the team and warehouse function is delivering key metricsDevelop the skill base of the warehouse team to ensure all team members reach their full potentialSchedules and manages labour requirements Qualifications: Minimum of 5 GCSE's grade A-C (including Maths and English) or equivalent secondary qualification - a professional logistics qualification would be advantageous but not essentialFirst line supervisory experience leading complex projects in a logistics environmentExperience of warehousing/ dispatch activity in a fast moving storage or manufacturing environmentStrong stakeholder and change management skillsClear communication skills (fluent verbal and written English) with the ability to communicate with colleagues on different levels in the organisationProven experience implementing continuous improvementAble to take ownership and accountability for actionsAbility to be hands on and work in detail at an operational level when requiredProven team motivation skills with the ability to create a strong and cohesive teamSelf-starting with personal drive and motivation to proactively identify issues and deliver solutions to problemsProficiency with Microsoft applications - experience with MRP/ERP systems, SAP would be preferredAble to work effectively under pressure and be comfortable with ambiguity
