Apply now Redrame Recruitment are proud to be recruiting for a transport manager due to continued growth.Reporting to the Operations Director and based near Truro, the Transport Manager will be responsible for:• Coordination between Sales and Production departments to generate load plans for dispatch to UK and Export markets. • Forward planning production sequences, and day to day progress monitoring to ensure that machines are available for planned loads.• Providing detailed availability of machines to the sales team, based on the manufacturing schedule.• Management of the vehicle fleetThe successful candidate will be able to thrive in a dynamic environment that requires excellent communication skills and an analytical approach to achieve coordination across departments. Responsibilities GeneralTransport PlanningIn developing load plans and production sequences consideration will be given to:• Sales priorities, promised dates and fixed dates, such as exhibitions• Production schedules and stock availability• Own Transport availability, and booking outside transport when necessary• Efficient use of in house transport and outside hauliers, both in route planning and vehicle fill• Movement of demonstration machines within the UK dealer network• Return of raw materials to the factoryHGV, Car & Van Fleet Management• Liaising with HGV (3 units) maintenance contractors for weekly checks and MOTs• Coordination of car (10 vehicles)/van (3 vehicles) servicing • Maintaining the Goods Vehicle Operators License• Replacing tractors units, trailers and other company vehicles as required• Management of the Digital Tachograph system
