Apply now Are you an experienced Toolmaker looking for a new challenge?Our client is an established manufacturer in Ross-on-Wye and they are looking for a Toolmaker to join their team. The main responsibilities of this role will consist of the design and manufacture of cost effective tooling to enable them to carry out the full production of products against customer requirements and assist with aspects of our quality assurance system. The Toolmaker will report directly to the Operations DirectorAll tooling will primarily consist of templates, drill jigs, layouts, weld jigs and plasma templates, etc. Listed below is a brief summary of the work involved, although this may change from time to time:1. Discuss details/costs of proposed tooling requirements with Product Managers, Engineering and internal customers.2. Produce sketches/schemes/drawings for the cost and effective manufacture of tooling required to support production against customer orders.3. Manufacture/modify and prove all tooling currently in use and tooling to be brought into service.4. Maintain Tooling Register fit for ISO 9001 Quality Systems audit.5. Check, measure and record parts dimensions to ensure they conform to drawing requirements. This includes the methodical auditing of products on a regular basis.6. Check, measure and record parts dimensions in order to methodically analyse and solve production problems.7. Carry out measuring equipment checks as requested and maintain a workable calibration register for all T&M equipment.8. Implement and maintain suitable preventative maintenance program and in service, serviceability check register for all Tooling.The Toolmaker role may also be required to assist the maintenance department when and where necessary, repairing and maintaining the equipment at all levels of serviceability and length of service.
