Our Childcare Managers have overall management of the childcare department in one of our stunning Mediterranean beach resorts. As Childcare Management you will have proven management skills and experience leading and supporting a large team. You will guarantee the effective management and organisation of the childcare department whilst ensuring in every children's club your team deliver the highest level of childcare in a safe, happy, stimulating environment. This position is available from April onwards through to October/November with the opportunity of year-round employment. Main Responsibilities Operational Ensure your team deliver an unforgettable holiday experience to parents and childrenEnsure standards, ratios and conditions of registration are maintained at all timesMaintain up-to-date records for all childrenImplement health and safety policies, ensure fully operational on a daily basisAudit, evaluate and manage risk ensuring any remedial action is taken immediatelyEstablish high standards of organisation and co-ordination within your departmentAction and monitor any parents' child-related issuesBuild and support a strong relationship with the Hotel and Resort ManagerEnsure nutritional needs of children are metAssist in the development of childcare standards, procedures and information systemsEvaluate the quality of childcare within each department, identify and address areas needing development Communication Actively promote the childcare department to all guests, ensuring parents and guardians are well informed about the department, it's services and facilitiesEncourage good communication links between all other departmentsEstablish, develop and maintain professional working relationships with all department managers, local staff and external companies Personnel Manage staff reviews, appraisals and any disciplinary or grievances mattersDevelop a training plan, evaluate training undertaken by your teamEnsure all new staff follow an induction programme, are mentored and trainedEnsure all childcare staff are trained, motivated, appraised and developed in a positive and effective mannerSupport and supervise all staff with their day-to-day dutiesMonitor staffing levels and liaise with the Resort Manager Financial Review and monitor occupancy levels to ensure they're maintained to maximum capacityManage care, maintenance and security of equipment and toysMonitor and control department costsInventory checks Abilities and Skills Present a 'can do' attitudeTeam skillsConfident, assertive self-motivator, show initiativeFlexible approachCustomer orientatedOrganised, be pro-active, a good plannerEffective leadership skillsDecisivenessArticulateStaff developmentPatient and sympathetic by natureAn affinity with children Essential Requirements CACHE, NNEB, City & Guilds, BTEC National Diplomas or equivalent qualification to level 3At least 2 years' experience in a childcare environmentExcellent communication and administration skillsAbility to use initiative, plan, organise and prioritise work loadExperience in Nursery ManagementExperience with a wide variety of agesCurrent Paedatric First Aid CertificateGood swimmerFluent in EnglishEnhanced disclosure required through the 'Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)UK/EU Passport holderUK National Insurance NumberUK Bank Account Package and Benefits Return travel to/from UKMedical insuranceComfortable accommodationAll mealsDiscounted drinks and beauty treatmentsUse of some hotel sports equipment and facilities including tuitionSmart uniformHoliday concessions for friends and familyA competitive salary and bonusComprehensive trainingOpportunity to work year-roundManagement development About Mark Warner Mark Warner specialise in superb activity holidays to top ski resorts in Europe and beautiful beach locations in the Mediterranean.
