With over 25 years` experience in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of large scale CCGT and OCGT Power Plants.The main responsibilities for this role - Senior Civil Engineer ( 4 -5 years Civil Engineering experience, Bachelor`s Degree or Higher in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, AutoCAD, Quality Management, Civil Management , Health and Safety Management Systems )This role is based at Spalding.We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our professional team. As a key member of the project management team you must be ready to work in a fast-paced demanding work environment, responsible for multiple roles, (Quality Management, Civil Management and Engineering) managing and interfacing with direct staff, sub-contractors, external suppliers to support execution of the project in adherence with the APC Quality Health and Safety Management systems.Supervises, coordinates and assists in the development review, planning, design and construction of all civil packages, ensuring that codes, standards, and project requirements are met.Provide professional and technical engineering support services relative to assigned area of responsibility.Interpret and apply relevant codes, ordinances, rules and regulations.Manage the sub-contractors to complete scopes of work within agreed time framesProactively ensuring the highest possible quality levels onsite.Assisting the programme quality team and PM to meet health and safety and overall project quality objectivesCheck plans for accuracy, suitability, and completeness, and make recommendations for revision and improvement.Meet and confer with contractors, engineers and the general public relative to city policies, regulations, and procedures; work toward the resolution of discrepancies and problem situations with outside parties.Participate in the preparation of difficult and complex design drawings and specifications.Oversee and review the preparation of complex construction contracts and construction documents by establishing priorities, assigning tasks, allocating resources and monitoring progress to assure quality and cost-effective performance.Review construction contracts submittals by contractors, project engineers, and other related service providers. Checks and reviews specifications, cost estimates and computations.Review all temporary works designs for the applicable Civil PackagesOversees construction management services and/or assists in the coordination of inspection unit activities to assure conformance with plans and specifications, may participate in field inspections when necessary.Administer and/or oversee the administration of contracts and/or improvement agreements; review and approve all payments and billings for contracted services.Consults with technical staff, public officials, and others to resolve differences among professional personnel; identifies problems, develops and compares alternatives and makes decisions or recommendations for effective problem resolution.Coordinate activities between other departments, divisions, outside agencies, and consultants and/or contractors.Writes, and/or reviews letters, reports, memos, recommendations, routine correspondence and other documents.Skills required for this role - Senior Civil Engineer ( 4 -5 years Civil Engineering experience, Bachelor`s Degree or Higher in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, AutoCAD, Quality Management, Civil Management , Health and Safety Management Systems )Bachelor`s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Construction Management highly preferred.Major experience with construction site management.
