Apply now 121 Social Care are looking for a Specialised Childrens Home Registered Manager in the Northampton Area a for a Childrens Home accommodating young people with Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs. You should bring a wide range of knowledge and experience as a residential childcare practitioner with management experience and be suitably qualified. The successful candidate will need to be approved by the appropriate statutory body. This will require Ofsted registration in accordance with their respective time-scales and conditions. In line with the Children's Homes regulations the successful candidate will preferably have the following: Attribute Essential Desirable Education and Qualifications The Registered Manager is expected to have the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England). Work Experience Has at least two year's experience of working with children within the past five years with learning disabilities and autism and in addition, at least three years' experience of managing a residential setting in children's services. Knowledge, Skills and Training Able to demonstrate periodic training to update own knowledge, skills and competence Has a high standard of general intelligence Sound knowledge of legislation relating to Health and Safety, Employment, and Food Hygiene Good insight into the care of children/young persons Literate, with good communication skills Numerate Knowledge of legislation relating specifically to Care Homes (regulations and standards), including registration and inspection procedures Specialist knowledge of care of children Possesses teaching, learning and assessment skills Personal Characteristics Able to plan, co-ordinate, organise and work under pressure, whilst remaining professional Creates a caring but strong and favourable impression to others Shows enthusiasm and commitment to the care of children Able to lead and motivate others Able to co-operate with other health professionals, and build and maintain positive relationships at all levels Self-motivated and pro-active Approachable, dependable, tenacious and confidential Able to attend the Home at any time, if required Business and management skills to manage the work efficiently and effectively; A full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.
