Responsibilities:• Investigate and work with suppliers to rework components in Material Review Board (MRB)• Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented • Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule • Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization and continuous improvement• Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI`s to suppliers• Establish specific short / long term supplier quality goals • Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply• Develop long-term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas• Aid Manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials • Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability to meet requirements. Additional Responsibilities:• Communicate engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teams• Actively manage suppliers to ensure there are no regressions with the implementation of new processes• Occasional travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems (1-2 per month)• Initiate action to prevent non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channelsQualifications Summary:• Ideally degree qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a Quality related discipline; or time served engineer with an electrically biased background• Good IT Skills (minimum Word, Excel and PowerPoint), experience of ERP systems preferred• Strong problem solving and organizational skills• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality system methodology is advantageous • 8D, Lean, 5 Why`s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, 8-D, etc preferred • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with diverse groups of people and be able to function independently of direct supervision Experience• 4 years related experience in a manufacturing environment • Knowledge of various quality system methodologies • Knowledge of 8D, Lean, 5 Why`s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma is preferred • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with diverse groups of people and be able to function independently of direct supervision Key Words - Quality supply engineer, quality system methodologies, ERP, Electrical/electronic engineering, ISO9001, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma,Postcode - Newport South East WalesAdditional Resources are an Employment Business and an Employment Agency as defined within The Conduct of Employment Agencies & Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.
