Apply now Our client are a major supplier of chilled food products and they are seeking to appoint an experienced, hands-on and assertive Quality Assurance Manager. As Quality Assurance Manager you will ultimately be responsible for ensuring that the product is consistent and meets both external and internal requirements. This includes legal compliance and customer expectations. Salary circa £35,000 to £45,000 per annum depending upon experience. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, your key responsibilities will include: Providing guidance and support to QA Team Leaders and the teamSetting SMART objectives for the QA Team LeadersMaintain quality assurance staff performance by coaching, counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.Managing time, attendance, holiday, communication of the QA teamEnsure QA team are actively challenging all process, procedures and CCP's within the factory and ensure all team members are fully trained in tasks.Determining training needs for the Quality Assurance teamReviewing monthly KPI's for a retail customer and ensuring accuracyCompleting and managing sign off of a retail customer's visit actionsManage customer technical site visits and attend pre-productions, ensuring all actions following visits are closed off within agreed timescalesAttend retail customer's meetings and / or conferences, on occasionManage and drive down customer complaintsInvestigate and set standards for quality assessmentsEnsure products comply to specifications and perform root cause analysis when necessaryPrepare and process quality reports by collecting, analysing and summarising information and trendsAssisting QA with new product launches to ensure systems are set up prior to pre-production runResponsible for ensuring taste panels are conducted, documented, trended and where non-conformance is identified that it is communicated to relevant departments and that timely corrective action is implemented to prevent reoccurrenceResponsible for implementing the Quality / Technical manuals ensuring the QA team follow the correct proceduresRecord, analyse trends and identify areas of focus and distribution of statistical informationEnsure the management of microbiological and chemical testing as per the schedule - Investigation of any out of specification results and initiating corrective actions in the factory where appropriateManagement of the setting up and maintenance of the Olympus Auto verification system, metal Detectors, Check Weighers and Horizon ScanningMinimising waste and increasing efficiencyDrive change and improvement in performance / quality across the site To be successful in the role of Quality Assurance Manager, you may have previously worked as a Quality Assurance Supervisor or Quality Control Manager and you will possess the following qualities: Proven experience of working within a high care / high risk food environmentSolid Quality assurance background with management experienceExperience of working within a medium sized manufacturing environment"Hands-on" approach to work as this role is based on the factory floor on a daily basisAble to manage a Quality Assurance team whilst maintaining an assertive approachCapable of working cooperatively and positively with other departmentsDegree (or equivalent) in Food Science or food related subject would be highly advantageous This position is based in Redditch and is easily accessible from Studley, Alcester, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Droitwich, Worcester, Birmingham and Warwick.If you are an experienced Quality Assurance Manager, looking for a new opportunity please apply immediately.
