UK The opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced power station professional to take a pivotal role in the commissioning and subsequent operation of a significant (5.5MWe) Biomass CHP Project in the Trossachs National Park.About you We're looking for a high calibre engineer (preferably HV SAP status) with solid operational experience in thermal power generation to manage the plant on an on-going basis.Experience of Biomass CHP and / or Advanced Gasification Technology is particularly attractive. You'll live within a daily commutable distance from the site in Killin.Main Responsibilities Oversee testing of plant systems and components during the commissioning phase and to ensure efficient and safe operation of the plant.Develop and implement the long-term operational plan of the power station consistent with local and national regulations and good industry practice.Responsible for electrical and thermal power production.Responsible for the daily plant generation reports, reporting for regulatory purposes (output and emissions) and daily Grid Nominations.Responsible for System safety in accordance with H&S policy / procedure including regular reporting to managementDevelop and implement System optimisation plan.Provide out of hours / absence / leave cover as required. Essential requirements It's imperative that you can attend the site on a daily basis, the site is at Killin, north of Glasgow and Edinburgh and approximately 1.5 hours hour's drive from each.Education to degree level or equivalent in related field of engineeringProfessional experience in a biomass / syngas power generating station, including time spent in a management role.Highest standards, of safety and environmental compliance.HV Senior Authorised Person qualified (training can be provided)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent IT and report writing skillsFluent in English.Right to work in UK. Remuneration This role is offered on a fully employed basis, with a competitive base salary (negotiable based on experience and value) likely around £50,000 plus a discretionary bonus scheme linked to operational performance.
