Apply now **Procurement Specialist - 6 months contract - Leading Defence Organisation- £34 per hourly Ltd/ Umbrella - Telford** Our client is one of the worlds leading defence organisation based in Telford who are looking for an Interim Procurement Specialist / Procurement Officer to join their team. Responsibilities:You will be offering support to the Category Lead you will responsible for working on current contracts, new bids and supply chain requirements. Engaging stakeholders to ensure the programme, customer, product and in- service strategies are integrated into sourcing selection, negotiation, and contracting strategies in line with business objectives and processes. Negotiating pricing and contracting terms and conditions. Managing supplier performance and relationships to ensure delivery, quality, financial stability and in-service performance, reporting upon Key Performance Indicators to identify and monitor allocated supplier performance through the use of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People framework, and report this into the monthly submission Scorecard. Maintenance of Schedule Agreements and Purchase Orders within SAP, for their assigned suppliers. Undertake any tasks or actions as directed for the benefit of the business, in accordance with Business Policy, Processes and Procedures. Identify, manage, and resolve obsolescence issues with suppliers, notifying line management of such issues. Experience required for this role: Ideally working towards MCIPS or with relevant training and experience of a working in an operational Procurement environment.Strong procurement and contract management experience is required Working within a Defence, Military, manufacturing or similar industry sector would be advantageous Experience of working to SAP processes, recognising the impact should these processes not be followed.Experience of effective Supplier Relationship Management tools and techniques.Willingness to travel to suppliers to participate in business reviews and be embedded into suppliers as part of Supplier Performance improvement activity, if necessary.Excellent IT systems knowledge and experience - Microsoft Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel.Exceptional communications skills Unfortunately due to the large number of applicants individual feedback cannot always be given.
