The Human Resources team in London is developing and implementing a People Strategy, within the firm's guidelines, which will prioritise career development and support, effective performance management and client focus as the main threads for achieving the firm's objectives. The HR team has implemented a shared services model, with our centralised shared services function having responsibility for all day-to-day HR operational issues. The HR Advisor will support the HR team by providing Partners, managers and employees with a quality service and rapid response to resolve queries or carry out requests within the scope of the role. We are looking for an experienced HR professional to join the team 3 days per week to assist with additional workload whilst the team are working on an internal project. Working days will be Monday and ideally Thursday and Friday. Key Responsibilities: As an HR Advisor (HRA) in the HR Advice team you will be required to resolve queries and cases from a range of HR specialisms in order to support the wider HR team and the firm. You will provide accurate, timely and consistent front line HR advice to Clifford Chance Partners, managers, and employees through the 6006 Helpdesk and HR Advice email address. You will be responsible for allocating cases timely and correctly to the relevant HR Advisor. In addition you may be expected to complete HR administration activities and provide advice in the following areas: advising on Clifford Chance policy and procedure; administering the employee lifecycle including onboarding new joiners, maternity, leavers, promotions etc; advising on Reward and Benefit policies; monitoring and assisting with working permit arrangements for the non EEA/UK citizens of the firm note taking for formal HR meetings including grievances, disciplinary meetings, etc You will also be responsible for providing information and assistance on the use of self-service and using the HR intranet. You will input and maintain accurate employee records using appropriate HR systems including PeopleSoft and ServiceNow Helpdesk, as well as some external databases. You will be expected to provide assistance and share knowledge with other HRA's and HR colleagues to improve the delivery of HR service to the firm and will be responsible for identifying and suggesting service delivery improvements for their area to the HR Advice Manager. HR Advice occasionally provides assistance to other areas of the HR department, therefore, flexibility is required. It will also be your responsibility to obtain the correct level of authorisation for work being carried out and escalate complex queries and requests as appropriate. Qualifications Your experience will ideally have covered HR areas throughout the employment lifecycle. You will have an understanding of an HR shared services environment, including the delivery of services within an HR Shared Service. You will be commercially aware and have knowledge of HR policies, structures, and strategy. You will also need to have a thorough understanding of the Data Protection Act. You will have strong influencing, communication and team working skills as well as proven ability to work on your own initiative and be able to demonstrate credibly with people at all levels. You will also have proven organisational and administration skills. Experience of HR systems and Case Management tools (Customer Relationship Product) would be an advantage. Ideally, you will be educated to degree level and have a formal HR qualification e.g. CIPD or equivalent.
