CANDIDATE We are looking to recruit an experienced Production Technician to augment our current Production Team in the electro-mechanical assembly and test a variety of infrared thermal imaging related products. Production involves job or batch quantities and can range from cable assembly through to full system build and test The role would suit candidates who have initiative, pay attention to detail, want the challenge and interest of working with a variety of technologies and where a flexible approach is necessary. WORK PROFILE The candidate will join a production department consisting of a Team Leader and other Production Technicians. The role will involve the manufacture of mechanical and electronic assemblies, testing, component level fault finding, wiring, recording and documenting. This position will be based at our Head Offices in Waterbeach, on the North side of Cambridge. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The successful candidate should have experience in roles that demonstrate the skills required for successful technical support: A formal Electronic Engineering qualification (Btec Elect Eng) ONC/OND or City & Guilds Radio & TVAn understanding of electro-mechanical fundamentalsTrouble-shooting, fault finding and debugging skillsSMT soldering (to 0201) and PCB repair skillsWiring and cable/harness assembly experienceComputer literateThe ability to read schematic designsProficient in the use of standard test equipment e.g. Oscilloscope, DVM, signal generator OTHER Salary: £25,000-28,000 pa (depending on qualifications/experience) On-site parking Flexible starting and finishing times (37½ hours per week) Staff company pension scheme Life Assurance Childcare voucher scheme Cycle to work scheme Monthly staff buffet lunch 23 days annual holiday (3 days to be taken over Christmas) + public holidays Long Term Service Awards
