The key function is to promote the organisation and its members' through government, political and media engagement. ·Maintaining relationships with government officials and supporting the organisation of industry showcases for policy priorities ·Reviewing and writing responses to white papers and government consultation documents ·Developing proactive media stories in conjunction with the PR/Media team ·Contributing to the blog and social media channels ·Developing, leading and managing a programme of engagement between members and central government officials to ensure members are aware of security policy developments and requirements Minimum requirements: ·Graduate with a Degree relating to International Relations, Defence, Politics, Cyber Security & Resilience ·Sound understanding of the Central Government or Parliament with experience of working in Parliament or in a government department or in public affairs is essential. ·Experience of developing policy positions and an understanding of business models ·Extensive written skill - briefing notes, white papers, consultation documents, policy papers. ·Strong knowledge of the security or intelligence services sector is essential ·Experience of arranging and facilitating events (briefings, seminars and workshops) ·Excellent verbal and written communication skills The successful candidate will be a self motivated individual who is able to work independently and in a team with experience of working in a fast paced and demanding environment.
