Apply now Overview: We are looking for an Operations Assistant to support the Operations Manager in the day to day running of the Operations department, playing a key role in the successful execution of the flying schedule. Core duties will involve, but not be limited to: Working with team members to construct a daily flying schedule, which most effectively and efficiently coordinates aircraft, simulator, instructor and trainee resources with the required course objectives and completion times Maintaining accurate and up to date aircraft records such as technical logs, electronic records and spreadsheets Book, maintain and amend, where necessary, training slots with ATC as required by instructors and trainees Real time monitoring of aircraft schedule responding to issues as they arise, coordinating refueling, maintenance and any other requirements for the aircraft, instructors and trainees Liaising with the engineers for adhoc and routine maintenance and communicating any related issues to the Operations team and the Chief Flying Instructor Airside driving-Transport crew to and from maintenance organization Ensuring all aircraft are suitably parked with covers and locks installed at the end of each day Ensuring that all portable apron lighting are positioned to illuminate the aircraft parking areas at the commencement of night flying and returned to the hangar and put on charge after the last landing At the end of the day prepare the de-icing fluid rigs for use the next day Conduct regular inspections of aircraft to ensure FOD is removed and the aircraft remain tidy and clean Arranging for the dissemination of current operational matters generated by the company, the CAA and Bournemouth Airport, to Operations, instructors and trainees General office duties including a good level of cleanliness of the operations department, flight planning and briefing rooms, and the maintenance of any databases associated with the aircraft or simulators Continually recommending to the Operations Manager ways in which the operational function could be developed and enhanced Qualification and educational requirements: Educated to GCSE English and Maths Level A - C (or equivalent) Essential skills and experience: Ability to working in a high pressured and dynamic environmentProven organizational and administrative skills with demonstrable success in managing a variety of tasks and/or activitiesSelf-motivated and proactiveGeneral IT knowledge (Word and Excel)Full UK Driving licence to facilitate Airside driving capacityExcellent time management and organizational skillsWillingness to approach any task with enthusiasmPrevious aviation training knowledge and experience would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be givenInternational outlook, ability to deal comfortably with various cultures is preferred Hours: This role is based on 37 hours per week. Operational hours are between 0630 and 2130, Monday to Sunday. Full details of the shift pattern will be discussed as part of selection process.
