Apply on employer's website The role We are seeking five Multi-Skilled Engineers to join a new client site based in Dartford, Kent that is due to move into the residential support contract in June/July 2018. As a Automation Engineer, you will sit as part of the Lifetime Services (LTS) division within TGW Northern Europe. The LTS department is responsible for the provision of support, maintenance and enhancements to our clients' automated warehouse solutions across the UK and Northern Europe.As an Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will support the client's automated warehouse solution, maintaining the equipment on site and ensuring that it operates at maximum efficiency with minimal downtime. You will work closely with the client and represent TGW during customer meetings and look to build the relationship with the site teams. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a breadth of tools and systems (such as PLC/high level controls), as well as proactively make an impact on the performance of the equipment. As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Autonomous maintenance activities of the automated equipment on site including, pallet conveyors, twin mast pallet cranes, weight checks, pallet lifts and pallet checksSupport the automation to operate at its maximum efficiency ensuring that the customers' orders are not missedComply to all current, future health and safety legislation at all timesAttend customer meetings providing any updates on the automation solutionContinually improve the performance of the equipment and how you workActively work with the customer to optimise the automation performanceCo-ordinate all planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activitiesWork with a right first time mind-set at all timesBe operationally minded with all decisionsLead / co-ordination of any automation breakdowns and escalations To be successful, you will require the following skills and experience: The ideal candidate will be an experienced multi-skilled Engineer who ideally has experience with automated equipment (conveyors, lifts, shuttles, etc.). You will have come from a client-facing environment and experience of mentoring and coordinating more junior members of a team. Previous experience with PLC and/or Warehouse Management Systems would also be desirable, but not essential as training will be provided. Essential Minimum NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds in electrical or mechanical engineeringCompletion of an electrical apprenticeship or an electrical qualification such as 17th editionPrevious experience of working in an operational engineering role within a similar environmentAble to work a shift pattern (4 on 4 off)Excellent communication skills and customer focusAbility to work in a time critical environment Desirable Experience of working with Warehouse Management Systems is preferablePLC fault-finding experience FMCG or Food/Drink Manufacturing sector experience Application process: Following your application your CV will be reviewed by our recruitment team and you'll have an informal telephone call.
