We are therefore looking to recruit a flexible and experienced team player as a Maintenance Engineer you will be based in Sheffield. The role is permanent and full time. As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be providing maintenance, breakdown and support engineering to customer owned equipment on site. Working as a team member to maximise efficient operation in a safe working environment. Perform routine, planned maintenance on all customer equipment and observe daily, weekly and monthly tests and recording policiesPro-actively work with the team, supervisor, and manager to report known issues/faults and to ensure they are effectively dealt with and closed outPerform breakdown repairs on customer machinesRecord parts used, maintenance performed, repairs and remedial activity requiredPro-actively work with the team, supervisor, and manager to close out jobs, or complete necessary remedial worksProvide support to cover small maintenance works on the buildings where requiredEnsure good house-keeping at all times, ensuring both workshop and shop floor areas are clean and tidyMake suggestions to improve working practicesOrder spare parts and ensure stock locations are maintained and kept in orderWork with the customer to prioritise workloads in order to maximise productionComply with all Company polices, health and safety, continuous improvement Experience required The Maintenance Engineer needs to be electrically competent. C&G236 level 3 or equivalentElectrical testing and logical fault-finding processesAble to work in a high pressure environment Customer interactionAble to maintain a high-volume production line to ensure productivity is maximised Ability to think on your own and use initiative The working week runs Monday to Sunday. The hours of work are 40 per week, Monday to Friday within a 2-shift system of 06:00-14:30 and 14:30-23:00 inclusive of an unpaid 30 minute break. The contract holder will also participate in the weekend working rota and, on occasion, work the night shift to cover absence (21:45-06:15). Overtime The hourly rate is calculated as follows: (Annual Salary/52 weeks per year)/40 hours per week.Hours worked in excess of the rota'd hours in each Monday to Saturday period are paid at a rate of 1.5 x your hourly rate.Sundays are paid at 2 x your hourly rate.Statutory holidays: No premium rate is applicable. Please see additional document on bank holiday working.Night-shift cover: For each 8 hour shift worked the individual will accrue 1.6 lieu hours to be taken as time away from work. Package The starting salary for this position is circa £29,000 per annum rising to £30,000 after successful probabtion and £32,000 after 12 months review with knowledge and experience.
