Apply now I am recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator in Slough. This is a full time, permanent position for one of UK's leading renewable energy, recycling and waste management companies, working 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of supervising a Logistics operation and will hold an IOSH certificate or equivalent. Job Purpose To competently supervise logistic team activities within the liquid waste collections business and to ensure that they are carried out in a safe, professional, economical and timely manner in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.To maximise your team's collection rates, productivity and efficiency ensuring that all targets and objectives are met or exceeded.To liaise and communicate effectively with the commercial team and customers ensuring all contractual obligations are met. Key Job Elements Monitor the operational and budgetary performance of the profit centre and report variances, recommending corrective actions as required.To liaise closely with the Logistics Unit Manager and assist in producing financial and other information for the production of monthly profit and loss accounts and the accurate forecasting of site performance on a defined regular basis.Liaise with the Sales and Account Development teams to provide information and costing for new and existing work. The targeting of sales development areas to maximise efficiencies for the fleet.The management of vehicle fleet to ensure 100% service levels, first time, on time, is achieved at the most cost efficient level.Maintain the fleet to company and legislative standards ensuring high standards of housekeeping. Minimise loss due to repairing damage by cultivating an accident free workplace.Ensure health and safety standards are in line with company requirements ensuring all company procedures are adhered to.Report all incidents, accidents and complaints by the approved method taking action to prevent reoccurrence.Maximise, together with the transport team, the efficiency of the fleet's operation and the department as a whole.Produce Key Performance Indicators in order to continually monitor and review the fleet's operation, seeking to improve levels of performance.To supervise and develop your team to maximise their potential to themselves and the business.To carry out annual and timely Performance Annual Reviews (PARs) and annual training reviews as required.Liaise with regulatory authorities and customers as required.Liaise with other sites and departments as required to facilitate an efficient operation.Maintain all fleet and tachograph records, reports and check sheets in a complete and recoverable manner to ensure BMS and legislative compliance at all times.Ensure drivers are debriefed at the end of each day and any uncompleted work is carried forward, also other information arising from the debriefing is acted upon (e.g. near misses, unprofitable jobs, delays, etc.).To keep informed of industry developments, technological advances and operational practices and use these where appropriate to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the fleet. Knowledge, Skills And Experience Essential: Knowledge of fleet operating systems.Knowledge of road transport and relevant environmental legislationKnowledge of complex reports and KPI's and how they are used within a logistics business.Proven track record in the identification of talent and delivery of succession plans.Knowledge of MS Office applications.Proven ability to deliver improvements in all areas of responsibility.Proven problem solving skills.Ability to route vehicles effectively taking into account profit and productivity.Resilient self-motivated and have the ability to prioritise and work to tight, often conflicting, deadlines.Computer literate.Good customer service skills.Good communication skills.Good routing, logistic, administrative and clerical skills in a transport or related environment.A proven track record of supervising a Logistic operation successfully for a minimum of 2 years.Previous experience of customer experience management and strategy.Previous experience controlling fleet activities.Previous experience managing large teams.Experience of preparing month end reports.Proven ability to working within timescales and meeting deadlines.Proven track record of delivering commercial targets.Full CPC National for road transport (or working towards) completion within 12 months of appointment).IOSH managing safely or equivalent.Full driving licence.Good Level of education - A level or equivalent qualification. Desirable Knowledge of waste Industry e.g. Waste Management Licensing /Hazardous Waste Regulations.Experience of liquid waste, recycling or energy industries.Experience of preparing budgets and forecasts.LGV C+E.NEBOSH General Certificate.Degree level or equivalent qualification.Management qualification.
