Apply now Live in House Manger for Country Estate in Berkshire. A young friendly couple are looking for a live in house manager to support them at their country house outside of Hungerford. Building works of the property will commence in the next year or so, so your role may take on a more project management position come this time - all TBD, but you must be flexible and open. They are recently married and looking for a knowledgeable and experienced individual that can ensure the smooth running of their house when they are in residence and also out of residence. Must have previous experience and strong references. ROLE: -Oversee the 2x cleaners who do all the cleaning of the rooms and ironing etc -Oversee the cook at weekends (buy food for the cook) -Silver service when entertaining a reasonable number of guests (6 - 8 at most - we will provide assistance for larger groups) -Undertaking any reasonable task that is asked of you which is safely within your abilities and as instructed to include operating gardening tools and machines including hedge trimmers, strimmers, mowers and blowers etc, keeping all areas clean & tidy. -Basic maintenance checks and repairs of machinery and equipment used and reporting all breakages and items requiring repair. -Carrying out building maintenance tasks that are within your abilities and can be carried out safely such as clearing gutters, mending doors, painting etc. -Driving (collection to and from train station and to London occasionally) -Security -Walking the principles dogs when needs be EXTRAS: -Handover with current couple - w/c 24.3.18 -Working hours - 5 days a week. 9-5.30am. Needed in residence Friday/Saturday/Sunday with flexibility outside of the working hours -20 days holiday -Accommodation provided (2 bed Stable Cottage in the grounds of the estat.
