Apply now Job Title: Large Commercial Real Estate Credit Underwriter Location: East London Salary: £40-55,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits About the Large Commercial Real Estate Credit Underwriter As the Large Commercial Real Estate Credit Underwriter you will have an exciting opportunity to develop both your technical and client servicing skills in an established alternative finance environment. As Large Commercial Real Estate Credit Underwriter your responsibilities and duties will include: To underwrite commercial and trading business (retail and leisure) mortgage applications in line with the company lending policy and to manage the application through to completion. To produce credit papers on loans over £2.5 million and present these to the group credit team. An ability to adopt a pragmatic approach to underwriting commercial and trading business mortgage applications within approved lending mandate. Able to develop a rationale for those cases outside of own lending mandate or company lending policy and communicate findings to Credit Risk department for their consideration. To build successful working relationships with external contacts such as brokers, customers, surveyors and solicitors as well as internal teams such as administrators, lending officers, credit risk and finance to ensure all lending requirements are satisfied prior to release of funds. To effectively manage a pipeline of approximately 40 cases through to completion, ensuring both company service standards and the lending policy is complied with throughout. About You If you are currently in a Lending Manager role in property finance or are currently working as a Credit Underwriting within the Real Estate sector this is the ideal next step in your career Essential Skills and Competencies of the Large Commercial Real Estate Credit Underwriter Property banking background with extensive secured loan experience.Currently hold a lending mandateAn excellent understanding of the commercial and trading business mortgage sectorA good knowledge and understanding of legal conveyancingExperience of working to tight deadlinesExperience of working in a team Desired Skills and Competencies of the Large Commercial Real Estate Credit Underwriter Strong communication skills both internal and external.Professional people skills.Organised, decisive, accurate with ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
