Apply now Home Delivery Service - Service Manager Salary: Circa £45000 (dependent upon experience) 12 months Fixed Term Contract Location: Stoke on Trent with regular travel What you'll do: Reporting into the General Manager for home delivery you will have responsibility for daily operational management of the home delivery service with a focus on establishing best practice, implementing basic standards and instilling continuous improvement opportunities along with the development of a change culture. Able to manage multiple activates you will play a significant role in the delivery of the HDS efficiency programme and help shape the future of the home delivery model by delivering quality change at pace and ensuring sustainability and delivery of future customer proposition/delivery method. Key Responsibilities include: Responsible for daily leadership of home delivery team (3 DDM's / 24 DTM's/ 700 Driver colleagues). Responsible for circa £9.5m operating budget and management of period costs to ensure costs are in line with expectations. Develop & coach existing managers to increase capability & bandwidth of team instilling a continuous improvement mindset into the daily routines and influencing the culture within the managers & colleagues. Represent HDS in a decision-making capacity at a senior level and deputise in the absence of the general manager demonstrating ability to influence senior members of the business within operations and central functions to ensure delivery of both strategic & tactical opportunities. Delivery of project work-streams within the 12-month period of the HDS efficiency programme. Able to manage multiple work-stream activities demonstrating excellent planning & organisational skills. Able to plan & execute trials for proof of concept & scalability prior to full roll out across estate. Submit monthly updates for review at operating boards where project governance will be held. Develop & implement communication mechanism to allow 2-way communication with all field based colleagues. Manage & influence relationships with 3rd parties to ensure optimum service and cost benefit for HDS. Identify opportunities for budget reduction within fleet estate. Expected to be field based when required with permanent base at HSC. Key knowledge and skills required for the role: Previous experience in successful change implementation. Previous experience in project management with delivery of mid-sized projects with proven benefit. Able to plan for delivery and co-ordinate effort for multiple work-streams which will underpin HDS efficiency programme in 2018. Previous experience in senior leadership team with proven influencing skills. Excellent organisational skills. Proven communication skills over multiple platforms. Experience with Microsoft package (intermediate level).
