Apply now We are currently recruiting for a Head Chef based in Workington. This is an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to experiment and make their mark on a well established business.Having been established for over 20 years, this Hotel and Restaurant can do over 100 covers on a weekend and up to 40 during the evening sittings in the week.Typically offering pub food, they are now looking to expand into bistro and tapas style with speciality evenings to coincide with a planned renovation to the bar, lounge and restaurant.You will be expected to work between 40-45 hours per week covering 2 shifts of the 3 on offer. This will be on a rota system working 5 days over 7.As the Head Chef, you will be in charge of 3 staff along with casual pot washers and will take full responsibility for the kitchen management including costing of food, creation of the menus and service delivery. You will also be expected to deliver any training on Health & Safety, Hygiene and general cooking practices.In return you will receive a fantastic salary, an option for live in accommodation if desired and have free rain to experiment and create a whole new menu.
