Apply now Role Our client are a high-tech engineering company in the automotive sector. They are looking to recruit an innovative, high calibre Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join its busy engineering team who is keen to play a key part in ensuring future success within a fast moving industry. Duties and responsibilities • Generate conceptual designs based on technical specifications • Ensure products are developed to achieve compliance with design objectives • Provide technical liaison and support for customers • Prepare manufacturing drawings and liaise with suppliers to ensure quality and resolve manufacturing issues • Participate in the creation of functional specifications, DVP, FMEA • Support the design and development of test rigs • Assist the engineering team in build, test and commissioning activities • Create and maintain support documentation (e.g. procedures, build manual) • Identify opportunities for improvements in functionality and manufacture Skills and experience • Interest in high-speed rotating equipment, automotive or other relevant sectors • Strong 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred) and 2D drawing skills. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and limitations (e.g. turning, milling, grinding, casting) • Good team working, communication and presentation skills • Self starter, able to prioritise and plan effectively • Excellent problem solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas • Keen attention to detail Location Kenilworth Benefits Training will be given by experienced engineers with appropriate off-site courses as required.
