Apply now Financial Controller Permanent GBP50-60k pa Our client - a well established and reputable company is seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to oversee and manage the financial activities of the company. The ideal candidate will be a natural negotiator, solution finder, facilitator and keen to develop relationships with all stakeholders (inc Directors). Possess the ability to anticipate issues, mitigate challenges and draw up plans at strategic and tactical level. Reporting to the Finance Director and Managing Director you will be responsible for overseeing departments including Credit Control, Purchase Ledger and Payroll. In addition to the professional Accounting Qualification (AAT or part qualified ACCA), the ideal candidate will have five years experience in industry (FMCG) as a management accountant or an assistant management accountant looking to progress to the next level with strong technical, accounting skills, and a solid knowledge and understanding of cost accounting and ratios. Duties include; Reconciliation of accounts Prepare and input monthly journals Prepare, reconcile and submit monthly VAT returns Liaising with company's and bank's auditors Preparation of cash-flow forecasts and balance sheet projections Producing monthly management reports Management of Credit Control function Management of Purchase Ledger department - dealing with supplier issues/concerns Management of payroll department and employee concerns Skills required: Must be prepared to present, report and negotiate with multiple SME stakeholders: Invoice discounters, Inventory Financiers, General bankers, Customers, Suppliers, Auditors etc.. Team Leader with experience of team building- hiring and rationalisation to meet new strategies Experience in SME and larger enterprises Experience of Accountancy packages/software - possibly review and redesign manual and automated processes Expert in Excel Must be prepared to work to KPI's such as Liquidity ratios, debtor ratios, funding ratios etc..
