Apply now EMC Electric Vehicle (EV) Project Engineer Nuneaton to £48k As the successful candidate you will be responsible for all aspects of EMC project delivery. This includes testing and reporting for a variety of Electric and Hybrid Vehicle programmes in accordance with European Directives and worldwide Standards. Working primarily within the Special Projects Team you will ensure tests are performed to schedule, budget and delivered. Key Responsibilities with respect to Electrical / Hybrid Vehicle EMC (will include, but are not limited to): Customer liaisonPreparation of quotations and proposalsDetailed reviews of test specifications and test plans (prior to and during test)Consultation, preparation & technical evaluation of trials plan requirementsPlanning / delivery of multiple projects across multiple laboratoriesTechnical engineering lead for projects under your controlManagement of all customer deliverablesScheduling of tasks to maximise the efficiencies for projects within your controlProvide in-lab EV and Hybrid vehicle, component and sub-system test deliveryProvide in-lab project consultancy and product awarenessEquipment configuration within facilities Awareness and Expertise of the appropriate candidate may include, but is not limited to: BS EN 61000-3-2 / BS EN 61000-3-3 / BS EN 61000-3-11 / BS EN 61000-3-12BS EN 61000-4-4 / BS EN 61000-4-5BS EN 61851EV Battery TechnologiesWireless Power Transfer (WPT) technologiesxEV Charging Protocols, i.e. CHAdeMO, CCS Experience Essential experience for this role would include: Electrical Engineering backgroundPractical 'hands-on' engineeringExcellent communication/interpersonal skillsComputer literateAbility to work with detailed technical documentation including interpretation of requirements and product specifics Desirable experience for this role would include: Automotive electrical backgroundHigh Voltage (<1500 VDC, =440 VAC)Minimum of 5 years EMC/RF experience with a bias towards commercial and / or automotive applicationsUnderstanding of vehicular electrical powertrains and their associated charging methodologiesUnderstanding of CANBus principles Skills Essential skills for this role would include: Demonstrate Project Management skills with emphasis on commercial awareness, tasking and accountability, service quality, and timely deliveryDemonstrate an excellent understanding of the principles behind EMC test specifications and proceduresUnderstanding and generation of H,S & E / Risk Assessment requirements Qualifications Essential qualifications for this role would include: HNC/HND (BTEC level 4) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Equivalent time served experience Desirable qualifications for this role would include: Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related subjectEquivalent time served experience
