What will you be doing: Wiggle CRC are currently recruiting for an experienced Buying Manager to join the team based in Portsmouth. As the Buying Manager, you will be responsible for developing the buying team, their skills and capabilities with regard to brand and product range management, ensuring the overall commercial strategy for each market is delivered. You will play a key role in supplier negotiations and relationship management. Acting as a pivotal part in managing the process of range development you will own the product flow from concept to customer order ensuring the process is managed by your buying team to support the business vision to be the world's favourite retail destination for sports enthusiasts. Roles and Responsibilities The Buying Manager will be responsible for: Coaching and developing members of the Buying team to enhance range development. Creating category budgets and trading plans to achieve targets Manage supplier relationships to ensure product range is optimised. Overseeing category strategic development, managing the review process and driving range reviews. Managing marketing output, driving seasonal activity and creating compelling plans with suppliers Reviewing trade on a regular basis and writing reports. Manage a portfolio of brands within the category Skills and experience required Previous experience in a similar role within a sport or fashion retailer Educated to degree level A sports or cycling enthusiast with a strong technical / industry knowledge. Demonstrable experience in retail negotiations High level of commercial numeracy Strong presentation and report writing skills Does this sound like the perfect job for you?
