Apply now We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Service Manager to join the Avenues Team in North Cheam, Sutton. In this role you will work closely with the Service Manager to inspire and motivate your team to provide a high quality service. Acting as a role model in the delivery of active support you will promote and maintain person centred approaches and inclusive community links. Leading and inspiring your team in the implementation of the business plan and other strategic objectives you will ensure that your service develops sustainably, maintaining our commitment to the Avenues mission, vision and values. It would be highly desirable for applicants to hold a full valid driving licence and access to their own vehicle, but is not essential. Our services operate 24/7, 365 days a year and shift patterns will include early mornings, mid shifts, late evenings and administration shifts and you must be flexible to cover the rota at the service. Jeffrey House is a supporting living service where we support 8 people with severe learning disabilities, mental health and people who may display behaviours that challenges. What knowledge and experience should you have? An experienced social care professional, it is desirable that you will have previous experience in managing teams across a variety of locations. Previous experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health and challenging behaviours is essential along with a working understanding of positive behaviour support. A consummate people manager you will have demonstrable experience of leading a team to success; including performance management, conduct and development issues. You will be a natural networker, at ease forging relationships with multi-disciplinary professionals, service users and families alike. In your experience you will have gained knowledge of the policies and legislation relating to the provision of support. You will ideally have gained a level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care, or possess relevant professional experience and be willing to work towards certification in Positive Behavioural Support.
