This Analyst position will provide analytical and due diligence support on the project teams taking responsibility for the delivery of specific areas of analysis and research. Client Details NHS Improvement is responsible for overseeing foundation trusts, NHS trusts and independent providers. NHSi offer the support these providers need to give patients consistently safe, high quality, compassionate care within local health systems that are financially sustainable. By holding providers to account and, where necessary, intervening, they help the NHS to meet its short-term challenges and secure its future. NHS Improvement (NHSI) is the operational name for the organisation that brings together Monitor, NHS Trust Development Authority, Patient Safety, the National Reporting and Learning System, the Advancing Change team and the Intensive Support Teams. Based in London, the transactions and Sustainable Solutions (TSS) team is one of NHSIs central teams working closely with NHS providers and, within NHSI, with the four regional teams and across other central NHSI teams. TSS is a team that works across three broad areas: 1. Supporting the delivery of rapid financial improvement byNHS providers (e.g. through the financial improvement programme, and financial special measures) 2. Due diligence and assurance of complex provider to provider transactions, new models of care, and foundation trust applications; and 3. Supporting NHS providers and local health economies to quickly diagnose the challenges facing them and to develop and deliver solutions for the delivery of sustainable services such as via transactions and new models of care. Description Within a multidisciplinary team and a project environment, Analyst (Finance) are expected to deliver the following: Undertake research and analysis to establish the risks to sustainability of the provider and / or establish the range of practical solutions available; Produce standard analysis and reports (incl. presentations) including findings and recommendations to support the various work carried out by the Regulation directorate's Transactions & Sustainable Solutions team, including but not limited to: - Review of financial performance (I&E, Cash etc) - Review of strategic plans and transactions - Sustainability reviews, including consideration of implementation timescales, costs and dependencies - Review of operational/clinical performance as appropriate - Review elements of governance (i.e. risk & performance management) Other responsibilities will include: - Financial modelling (including stress testing and scenarios) - Assist with the preparation of key meetings with providers and stakeholders to support senior managers and directors. - Support Managers and Senior Managers in the development and continuous improvement of methodologies, techniques and tools used by the Regulation directorate's Transactions & Sustainable Solutions team, including the standardisation of bench-marking, analysis and tools. - Responsible for providing research, analysis, support and findings in accordance with timescales agreed as per project plans. Profile Qualification: - ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified (or equivalent) Desirable; Audit, assurance and due diligence experience Experience & Knowledge - Experience in working within Management information, analytics and reporting - Relevant information gained in a professional or financial services firm, the health sector, a large commercial organisation or a regulatory body - Experience of contributing to innovative solutions to strategic, financial and operational issues in business entities - Experience in delivering insightful point of view from data and ability to present analysis, information and reporting in a clear and logical way Skills, Abilities and Attributes - Strong numerical and problem solving skills - Ability to interrogate and analyse a significant volume of data - Outstanding communication skills, an ability to present complex financial data in an effective manner to a non finance audience - Comfortable working both independantly and as part of a multi-disciplinary - Proficient in Microsoft packages, particularl Excel modelling and powerpoint Job Offer Analyst (Finance) Band 8a : London, Public Sector and Government £45,000 - £54,000 - Strong emphasis on work life balance and working culture - Significant Pension Contribution package - Other benefits include; Maternity and Paternity package "Analyst (Finance) " "Public Sector and Government" "London"
