Apply now On behalf of our client, a well-established, independent firm of chartered accountants, we are seeking an experienced Accounts & Audit Manager. The Accounts & Audit Manager will be responsible for all aspects of audit (currently 10 statutory small company audits) and accounts management, as well as the development of the team and in-house processes. Responsibilities will include: Acting for clients including SMEs, high net worth individuals and UK branches and subsidiaries of prestigious European and US companies covering various business sectorsTo provide a client focused and commercially aware service in an efficient and professional manner, in line with relevant legislation, standards and best practiceTo mentor, train and manage junior members of staff to enable them to develop and take on more client responsibilities and ad hoc projectsTo actively promote and market the firm and to retain and develop relationships with existing clientsTo manage the firm's audits which would require a hands-on approach initially while at the same time developing the teamTo manage / lead / share responsibility in ad hoc projects as they arise e.g. GDPR implementation, pushing forward client and in-house applications in readiness for the digital age and marketing and website initiatives The ideal candidate will satisfy the following: Qualified to CA, ACA or ACCA level and have at least 2-3 years post qualified experience with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory /management capacity and experience in running their own portfolioHave a high degree of technical expertise and familiarity with current UK auditing / accounting standardsA good working knowledge of corporation taxKnowledge of VAT, personal taxation, payroll, CIS and company secretarial would be an advantageExcellent organisational, communication and project management skills are also a prerequisiteThe ability to work flexibly between hands on client work and management of the team and processes The role will suit someone looking to progress within the practice environment and for the right person offers definite potential of reaching partner level in the short to medium term.
